Abstract

Abbagnano formulated his philosophical system, called positive existentialism, in the books The Structure of Existentialism (La struttura dell’esistenza, 1939), Introduction to Existentialism (Introduzione all’esistenzialismo, 1942) and Positive Existentialism (L’esistenzialismo positivo, 1948), as well as in the form of a single summary in his essay The Death or Transformation of Existentialism (Morte o trasfigurazione dell’esistenzialismo, 1955), in which the basic postulates of German and French existentialism are understood in a completely new way.
